About Calmcontroller

Pastel books and folders stacked on a floating cloud shelf

Calmcontroller is a small, independent UK website about games that feel restful, and about the habits that keep play restful. We write for adults winding down after work, for parents choosing something gentle for a child, and for couples and families who want to play together without anyone getting wound up.

Why a site about calm games

Most games coverage is built around what is new, loud and competitive. That is fine, but it leaves out a lot of people who simply want to know: will this game let me relax? Does it have timers? Will it nag me with notifications or daily rewards? Can I stop whenever I like? We built a library that answers those questions first.

What you will find here

  • The calm library โ€” game profiles with a "calm profile" covering combat, timers, online pressure, saving and session length, plus PEGI rating, platforms and anything worth knowing, such as in-game purchases.
  • Guides โ€” practical pieces on wind-down routines, switching off pressure features, games and sleep, and gentle games for children and families.
  • Playlists โ€” short, ordered sets of games for particular evenings.

What we are not

We are not a health service, and nothing here is medical advice. Games can be a pleasant part of an evening, but they are not a treatment for anxiety, low mood or sleep problems. If you are struggling, your GP and the NHS are the right places to start.

We are not affiliated with any game publisher, developer, store or platform holder. We carry no advertising and no affiliate links, and nobody pays for a place in the library.

Who runs the site
